May is the month for the Canberra International Music Festival, with an extensive program of musical events. Several of our regular singers will be performing in at least one event (think Brahms, not psalms). Details are available at cimf.org.au.
Each year many highly talented and accomplished musicians come to Canberra from far and wide to make this event a very rich cultural mix, and one of the highlights of the Canberra year. Visiting performers are often billeted at private homes to keep costs down. They travel to rehearsals and performances during this busy ten days by various means, including hire cars and by volunteer drivers.
Offers for accommodation and transport will be most welcome. It’s a rewarding way to get to know some of the musicians and contribute to a great event.
